We booked a last minute mini break to Cornwall, we'd never been before, except hubby when he was a child! It was the first time we'd left Bailey home alone but at nearly 17 he is very mature and responsible and as my in laws are only two minutes away I felt okay leaving him. He had college and also didn't want to come, he was more than happy at home, he likes his routine. Was strange leaving him though....

The excellent thing about HE is the discount holidays! We booked with Hoseasons only a week before and got a huge discount on a lovely holiday park just 10 minutes drive from Newquay called Piran Meadows, link here

It was a really lovely quiet park, all very new and well manicured. We stayed in a 3 bed lodge with an outdoor hot tub, the kids were really excited about the hot tub! We even had free wifi, I'd normally avoid the wifi but it was nice to be able to Skype Bailey everyday and also great for the girls and Ruben to be able to keep in touch with friends. They didn't actually use it as much as I'd thought, plus it's great to be able to google places nearby!

It took us around 5 1/2 hours to drive and we headed straight to Newquay as we couldn't check in to the lodge until 4pm. The weather was glorious and we headed straight for the famous surfer beach Fistral beach! Was gorgeous and reminded me of Biarittz,

Here's our soon to be 13 year old!

Cordelia took some photos of the glorious turquoise sea as we walked around the costal path.

It looked like the Mediterranean Sea!

How cool is this private bridge over the cliff to a private house???

We had some chips-we are at the seaside!- and at the kids request played on the 2p slots :D

Ruben had an ice cream :)

We picked up a few bits of food and headed to our lodge, here are a few photos:

The park setting:

And the best bit, the hot tub!

Was lovely to relax in the hot tub every night and just chat without the distraction of TV/laptops/mobiles etc
