Much colder today but not too bad for Christmas Eve. We haven't been to Holy Island in five years so after checking the tide times (would be a bit rubbish being stuck in the car for hours waiting for the tide to go out on Christmas Eve!) and driving only 15 minutes from the cottage we were parked and being blasted by cold winds but beautiful views on Lindisfarme.
We walked to Holy Island and even walked up to the castle doors but it was shut today so I just took a photo of three of my very cold children....
The other cold child stayed at the bottom
Such blue skies, its hard to believe its December!
Back at the cottage for some lunch and a new Christmas tradition I've just decided to start, Christmas Eve gifts! We all got new festive pjs, Christmas mugs, hot chocolate, box of chocolates, Christmas movie-Arthur Christmas, Christmas story-T'was the Night Before Christmas. Was really nice to still be able to surprise everyone.
We all had a little walk on the beach near the cottage
Ruben got to try out his handmade catapult bought from Edinburgh yesterday
Then it was back home and in our new PJs, hot chocolate with squirty cream and marshamllows, chocolates and time to watch Arthur Christmas...
Happy Christmas Eve xxx
