Cordelia's 11th Birthday. Horse Riding!

The birthday girl was up at 6 am to open her presents. She had asked for horse riding equipment as she wanted to start up her lessons again, it's been a while and we found a great new stables in February. So we took her a few weeks ago to have a fitting for her helmet and body protector and we also got her some jodhpurs. My MIL bought her some horse riding boots last night so she was already to go!

She also got the new Septimus Heap book "Fyre" by Angie Sage, it's the last book in a seven book trilogy. A Legolas figure, model drawing book and some money to spend too.

She had a breakfast of warm pain au chocolat-her favourite and then we got ready to go to the stables. She looked super cute but very grown up especially since I have this photo of her aged 4 on a pony experience day:

She got to ride a lovely horse called "Charlie", the indoor arena was huge and the lady taking her for her lesson was brilliant with her. Piper and I sat and watched in the viewing area so excuse the rubbish photos of her through the glass. She learnt so many new things and I could see after 40 minutes she was exhausted but she carried on. It's going to take her a while to get into the swing of it all again and after the lesson the instructor said she thinks she's going to have a growth spurt because her left leg co-ordination is off. She will now have regular 30 minute lessons and because its just her and not a full class I'm hoping she will come on quickly. The instructor was fantastic and Cordelia came out so hyper.

We had a quick trip into town so she could spend some of her birthday money. She bought a new bag-how cute? Bangles and black lipstick......

Back home and she requested chicken fajitas for an early tea. Then we had a lovely visit from one of my closest friends who is Cordelia's godmother. She brought along her three children, including my god-daughter and they all had a great time playing together. And look what she bought-a Leaf of Lorien brooch!! Now I really need to get my finger out and make these cloaks!

My youngest daughter is now 11 years old and what a beautiful, happy, confident, clever, funny, sweet and kind girl she is. We are so proud of the person she is turning into and look forwards so much to seeing how much she is going to change and grow in the future. I'm so excited she can now go horse riding and looking forwards to watching her progress into an excellent horse rider.

Happy Birthday my sweet girl, love you lots and lots xxxxxx
