Despite having little sleep due to the super hot heating in the lodge I was feeling very relaxed and after breakfast we headed out to see some local sights. It was so close to the Welsh border that just a 10 minute drive from the lodge and we were in Wales-hurrah-I LOVE Wales. Monmouth was a small town but very pretty with lots of nice shops, Piper bought herself two new pairs of earrings (her new shopping addiction) from a handmade stall in the market.

The bridge below is from the Thirteenth Century and is called the Monnow Bridge, its design is unique in Britain and is one of only three such structures in Europe.
